Vintage 70's UNIVOX Tape Echo

For sale is this awesome Univox EC-80A tape echo from the 1970's. Anyone who knows anything about instrument effects knows that the most covetted delay sounds come from these pioneers of echo. This specific echo machine is less common even than the Roland Space Echo and sounds just as good. On ebay right now they fetch between 400 to 500 dollars, and most of them being sold for that price are tattered and worn out. Not this one. This echo machine is in beautiful cosmetic and functional condition. The tolex on the entire unit is still very black, and very intact. It still has all of its original hardware (knobs, rubber feet, handle and handle fasteners, fuse, two pronged power cable, etc). The ONLY thing lacking in this machine is that it's tape has come unravelled. New tapes are available from a reputable ebay seller for 50 to 60 dollars, or forless money you can send your existing tape cartridge to them to be completely refurbished. Email me for a link to that ebay seller or search for Apollon HD 5000 in the ebay search. THE PRICE OF THIS ECHO MACHINE REFLECTS THE NEED FOR A NEW TAPE. I will not lower the price of this already excellently priced echo machine because of its need for a new tape. The controls and features on this unit are, starting with the front panel, Echo Volume, Echo Balance, Echo Repeat, and Echo Delay - all very self-explanatory and common to most digital and analog delays. We then have a high and low impedance input and corresponding outputs for each, then the on/off toggle switch. Moving to the back panel, there is a quarter inch input for a footswitch (how awesome is that), the fuse housing, the tape cartridge slot and its power cable. The back panel can close and latch shut to keep its contents safe. I even have the paper copy of a repair and signal path evaluation done by a local repairman, to be included with this device for your peace of mind.
