1950's MARTIN D-28 Acoustic Guitar

This 1955 model Martin D-28 guitar has been played a lot until the original owner passed away. A rare opportunity to own a Brazilian Rosewood Martin guitar that has had no crack repairs. The frets have been replaced; however, the original fingerboard has been preserved with the original playing wear. The glue joints on this instrument are very good...especially the neck/body dovetail joint. The instrument is offered in the original case. At one point the owner had a DeArmond pickup installed and had a hole drilled in the side for an output jack. This hole has been repaired with a Brazilian Rosewood plug making it nearly invisible. One of the loudest acoustic guitars that I have ever played.

1967 HARMONY Monterey H1325 Archtop Guitar

This is a vintage 1967 Harmony Monterey H1325 Archtop guitar Grand Auditorium size in the red sunburst pattern - the second guitar I ever bought, a one owner guitar and it is in great shape, near mint. For a guitar its age only a very few scuffs and there is no fret wear. The action is low, there is plenty of adjustment left, it's all original and it plays like a dream. Top end Harmonies like this do not appear for sale very often. The following paragraph is from the Harmony catalogue: “Monterey guitars are arched of carefully selected hardwoods. Top and back body edges are celluloid bound. Ovalled fingerboards have bone nut, position markers. Adjustable ebonized bridges permit variation of string height. Celluloid quardplates. Nickel plated tailpieces. Dependable machine heads for accurate tuning. Beautifully finished, excellent tone." Monterey Grand Auditorium size, 16'4 x 41 in.  Arched spruce top model, in strikingly highlighted polished finish. Celluloid bound edges, neat inlay on top edge. Ovalled fingerboard, with bound edges. Shell pickguard, adjustable bridge, hinged tailpiece.” This is not a plywood guitar, it was produced from solid wood and unlike most older guitars - this on has an adjustable truss rod. If you want more information on this guitar just Google: Harmony Database and look up the H1325. You can find some videos on You Tube.

1960's KALAMAZOO KG-1 Electric Guitar

This quirky guitar was made in 1960's in the Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan (where some of the best guitars were made). Kalamazoo was Gibson student line during the 1960s and they made numerous models of this guitar and bass which is strikingly similar to a Fender Mustang. It features an amazing, thin neck made of Brazilian Rosewood: it has a great feel, supremely fast and has a maple back and aluminum tuners. The candy red body is made of MDF (medium-density fibreboard) which is basically plywood heated together to make a solid piece. Although unconventional, it is extremely resonant. There are some chips in the nitrocellulose finish and by the looks of it the second owner tried to install a bigsby. There is one single coil pickup that has a very dynamic tone range. Overall this guitar needs a bit of TLC but it would make a great Christmas present to a avid guitar collector or a beginner! It plays great, but all vintage guitars need tune ups!
