1960 GIBSON Les Paul Special
This is a fine example of an early Gibson electric. The headstock is 100% intact, which is rare for a Gibson of this age. It was purchased 3 years ago with no finish or hardware on it. The Gibson inlaid logo, fretboard inlays, bridge stud inserts, ground wire, and the serial number are all original. It is very lucky to find a stripped guitar like this where the serial number is left intact, whoever removed the finish carefully sanded around the serial leaving a bit of the original tv yellow finish with it. Every flat surface is perfectly smooth and every curve and contour is original, no material has been removed. Every route on the guitar is original and none have been modified. It has had a different pickguard on it at some point but every hole has been filled with a matching mahogany dowel. It is currently finished in Tung Oil which gives it a very nice natural feel and brings out the grain very well, but at the same time protects the wood. The lines on the headstock are finish cracks or "checking/crazing" and are in no way damage in the wood. The hardware is all new and fit without any modifications. The guitar sounds great, the p90s really bring out the sound of the old mahogany. The frets are in perfect condition, there is very little fret wear. Every single binding "nib" is 100% intact.
