1963 FENDER Jaguar

Offered for sale is a real vintage 1963 Fender Jaguar (this is NOT a reissue). This is an excellent example of a pre-CBS guitar. L-series serial number indicates 1963, neck date indicates July 1963, body is dated September 1963. Offset waist contoured alder body is finished in 3-tone sunburst nitrocellulose laquer with a 4 layer celluloid tortoise shell pickguard. Finish is 100% original, showing some dings, chips, worming, and minor checking. Chrome control plates, bridge, floating tremolo and tremolo bar are original and in good condition. Original string mute is in tact but rubber is deteriorated. Short scale 24" maple neck is finished in original nitrocellulose laquer and shows some wear through finish up to the 9th fret. Brazilian rosewood veneer fingerboard (7.25" radius) with clay dot markers has 22 original vintage frets, bone nut, and single line Klusons. Fingerboard and frets show moderate wear on first 9 frets. All electronics are also original and in good condition with the exception of the volume and tone pots, which have been replaced at some point (CTS pot codes are 35th week of 1977). Included with guitar is an all original 1963 side pocket case finished in white tolex with black leather ends and dark orange plush. The case is in good condition showing only minor wear to black leather ends, light corrosion on hardware, and some wear and staining to plush lining. Hinges and latches all work.  Cases with white tolex/black leather ends are rare as Fender only used this combination from 1963 to early 1964. These cases alone are worth a lot of money! Over all this is a great playing vintage Fender that is almost completely original (only things replaced were volume/tone pots) and in great condition. The finish does have some minor wear and checking, but the guitar is not beat up or worn down to the wood like many instruments out there are. This is a great guitar to add to the collection and are bound to continue increasing in value in the future. Do a search online for vintage Jaguars, and you'll see they are selling for some pretty big bucks. I've seen some sell for a lot of money despite being less original or in worse condition then mine. The only reason I am selling this fine vintage pre-CBS Fender is to fund some home renovations.
